Impact Of Daylight Saving Time to Avaya Systems - Supplied by Cincinnati Bell

Daylight Savings Time: What's Changing in 2007?

The United States is following a new US Government policy regarding Daylight Savings Time. Instead of traditional time changes in April and October, starting in March 2007, Daylight Savings Time will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday of November.

Impact on Avaya Systems:

Some Avaya systems will require Customer System Administrators to manually reset the time the same as in prior years. The only difference will be the timing based on the new March/November established DST change days.

Other Avaya systems have Automatic Daylight Savings Rules built into them that may be impacted by the new DST guidelines. For certain systems, Avaya has developed patches or software upgrades to correct system DST Rules. Other systems will require the System Administrator to follow procedures specific to the product to manually change the system time. If your company chooses not to have an eligible patch or software upgrade applied or timing precludes its completion prior to March 11, manual procedures to set the time are also available to get through the March 11 date smoothly.

Cincinnati Bell has prepared an overview document that provides general guidelines by product/system on the DST impact and action responsibilities.
